About Yan Yu

Yan Yu is a partner in the audit practice at HLB Ler Lum Chew PLT, bringing over 15 years of experience in external audit and banking. Prior to joining the firm, she worked with a leading bank in Malaysia on strategic cost management and process improvements. She manages a portfolio that includes both listed and private companies in Malaysia, while also auditing significant components of multinational corporations in Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and India. Yan Yu plays a key role as a reporting accountant for IPOs and various corporate exercises.

Yan Yu holds a Bachelor of Accounting with First Class Honours from Universiti Malaya and is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants. She is also a Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a registered auditor with the Audit Oversight Board. She is actively involved in MIA’s Public Practice Committee. underscoring her strong commitment to maintaining high professional standards and advancement of the profession.

Her extensive experience spans industries such as construction, food and beverage, manufacturing, plantation, healthcare, oil and gas, as well as hospitality and resorts. Yan’s track record includes auditing public listed companies of varying market capitalisations, multinationals, small and medium enterprises, and not-for-profit entities. She has conducted special purpose audits, reviews, and other assurance engagements, and has served as a reporting accountant for corporate exercises including IPOs, regularisation plans for PN17 or GN3 companies, and funds raising. Additionally, she has been involved in reviewing profit and cashflow forecasts and performing financial due diligence reviews.
